Comprehensive support for you and your child: Typically it falls on parents to coordinate services — Protea can play that role, making sure that everyone who is working with the child is focused on the same goals and interventions. Protea has experience coordinating with numerous providers of occupational and physical therapy, speech and language therapy, vision and auditory processing therapy, and counseling.
Experience in schools and classrooms: Protea has worked extensively with schools and districts throughout Northeast Ohio. Our teaching experience allows us to help those working with your child to modify curriculum, design and implement positive behavior interventions, and select appropriate accommodations
Understanding of your child’s rights: We can and often have supported parents through the ETR and IEP process, ensuring schools are adequately assessing and providing for your child. Our familiarity with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) regulations and research is based on over a decade of experience working in Federal education policy in Washington, DC.
